Katey Sagal

A versatile, gifted actor, Katey Sagal is a talented actress and singer who excelled at both drama and comedy. She was most well-known for her role in the role of Peg Bundy, a dazzlingly distinctive, bold character from the Fox show Married... with Children (1987). During the show's lengthy run, she was nominated for three Golden Globes as well as two American Comedy Award. Peg Bundy was equally well-known and popular as Katey as she continued to appear in sitcoms on television. Katey also played roles that were completely opposite of the role that first attracted the attention of the nation. In 2008 she played the character in the role of Gemma Teller Morrow (the matriarch of a Hell's Angels-like California motorcycle group) on Sons of Anarchy (2008). Her portrayal won her a Golden Globe Award in 2011 for Best performance by an actress in a Television Series--Drama. Catherine Louise Sagal, the daughter and director of Sara Zwilling and Boris Sagal were born January 19, 1954. Los Angeles native Catherine Louise Sagal began singing at the age of five. She then went on to study voice and acting at the California Institute of the Arts. A singing waitress during her "salad" times She began performing with the band "The Group With No Name," then caught a break when she connected with Gene Simmons and his 1970s rock band KISS. She also served as a backup vocalist for Simmons as well as other famous stars such as Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John and Tanya Tucker. She also sang live with Bette Midler, one of Bette's "Harlettes," in Bette’s avant-garde stage productions.
