Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She also was an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals straightforward and simple techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy, and battled on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned the English and Communications degree from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she says. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a great place to study. When I graduated of the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. While in Italy she grew to truly be aware of the philosophies behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact in her point of view. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in the lives of kids facing problems. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of children with diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor Burrell travels throughout the U.S. to share her love for cooking and career. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she's grateful to share with others what is essential to her.
